For those of you who would like to know...
Anna has survived her first week of college. She enjoyed it so much that she is considering adding a class that conflicts with her German class but it is still possible to take them both. (Shocking I know) The class that is a possible add is 'Applied music'. Apparently for a music major degree you need to have 4 semesters of applied music. It would be nice to just get that requirement out of the way. (There is another music student taking both)Another class Anna is taking is American History. Which promises to be a lot of fun judging by the character of the instructor. :)
The only other class (besides the choirs) that I'm taking is Theory 1 and Musicianship 1. The are taken together and count actually at two, 3unit classes. This class I believe will be a bit more challenging. This weekend I hope to memorize all of the key-signatures. I know. I should know them already with all of the piano and singing years I have under my belt. I should but I don't. But I will.
With the new semester of choirs comes the old challenge of not being willing to perform on Sunday. Somehow my director doesn't remember semester to semester. Rather frustrating. This semester instead of the one concert that I would miss there are now 2 concerts which I will not be singing in. Plus the kids choir's concert is on a Sunday. That just means I can help the kids learn the material but I can't help them perform it.
On the whole not only have I survived, but I am still excited about it. I don't know though, that might change once I get my first full week in.
